Gardening from a distance

I have tried year after year to plant various fruit and vegatable seeds and seedlings on my visits to my mountain property, to date I I've only been succesful with various Bulbs, (daffodils, glads, stuff like this) and some small arborvite and cypress trees thats are hanging in there about 2 feet high now, and a small bamboo bushy plant that has survived, all the fruit seedlings and seeds have never produced more than a dried stick or a deer eaten stub on my returns. This will not keep me from trying again. I am growing some various small plants that may or may not survive. I have a small cherry, some plums and a red maple, also a tuft of pampas grass to try this year, my long term goal is to have a full range of fresh food growing there as I retire, which is still 10 nyears off, but I like to plan ahead...I would like to grow fruit trees, timber bamboo, and get a good plot of winter forage for the critters, (not my vegatables food) to grow eventually, 1 out of 1 found this valuable. Do you?

OK, I have been home for a week with a horrible case of pinkeye, its the worst! Like having sand rubbed in my eyes for a week, , Im freaking dying! Anyway, I just wanted to mention my small bamboo on the mountain has taken off! I think a cherry and a plum tree are doing ok too as of last month, and i tried to plant about 10 peices of large bamboo, will see what happened in August when I return, been having steady rains this year,Thats a GOOD thing!

Wow, at last, the dreaded pinkeye is healing, I tried every suggested therapy on the internet after blowing $250 at the optometrist and after Walgreens fleeced me for antibiotic and other steriodal eydrops in tiny bottles ($85 each), yesterday I began putting diluted apple cider vinegar in my eyes, put green tea bags on my eyelids, let the hot shower blast out my eyes with hot water, and went to the beach this morning and swam underwater on and off with my eyes open for about 3 hours, this afternoon my eyes are starting to clear up and much less swollen,I dont care what fixed it but what a horrible pestilence!! Dang, I coulda bought alot of cement for that!!!

Glad it's getting better...sort of makes you feel bad for all the pink eye jokes, huh? Soon it will just be a pinky memory...fading away like a red eyed dawn...and you can concentrate on IMPORTANT stuff like going to the beach for NO reason! A frame is looking kick butt good, bro. Proud of you!
